Víctor Martínez

Cartagena (Murcia), 1987. He studied violin with Diego Sanz, Laura Rodriguez, Rezart Kapetani, Lina Tur and Nicholas Chumachenco in Cartagena Conservatory, the Conservatory of Music of Murcia and in the Conservatory of Music of Aragon.

 

He has served as concertmaster of the Youth Orchestra of the Region of Murcia (OJRM), Youth Orchestra of Andalucía (OJA), Orchestra of the Conservatory of Music of Aragon (OSCSMA), National Youth Orchestra (JONDE),  and has worked in various orchestras and ensembles such as Murcia Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of Cadaqués, the Reina Sofia Chamber Orchestra, the baroque group "Zarabanda" and Orchestra Spira Mirabilis.

 

He has performed with soloists height like Wenzel Fuchs, Lucas Macias, Eric Terwilliger, Alexander Rudin, Valeri Sokolov, A. Lonquich, Nicolas Chumachenco and P. Wispelwey, among others. He has worked with top directors like Cesar Alvarez, Nacho de Paz, Juan Luis Martinez, Pablo Gonzalez, Benito Lauret, Jaime Martin, Lutz Kohler, M.Minkowski, L.Langreé, Christophe Rousset, P. Herreweghe, G.Rozhdestvensky, Daniel Barenboim and Sir Neville Marriner.

 

In the chamber music field, he has formed with teachers like Marta Gulyas, Michael Thomas, Philippe Vasseur, Ageet Zweistra, Kennedy Moretti, Cuarteto Quiroga and Cuarteto Casals. He has collaborated with Art's XXI ensemble, formed by soloist of the Orchestra of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, in the CD recording the complete works of chamber music of Valencian composer José Báguena Soler.

 

Get in touch with the world of historical performance, focusing on the Classical and Romantic periods in 2009, when he attends the Formation supérieure de l'orchester au métier classique et Romantique at the Centre de recherche et européen musical practice in Saintes (France) under the supervision of Virginie Descharmes, Alessandro Moccia and P.Herreweghe artistic direction. Since then collaborates with various historical formations while he combines with his concerts.

 

In regard to merit, gets an honorable mention in the "Entre cuerdas y metales" competition in Cartagena (2002), with the quintet Akian gets third prize and the special prize of the public in the "Teodoro Ballo" competition in Zaragoza (2008), earned through a scholarship contest Ibercaja for continuing studies (2007), and obtained the same way an improvement scholarship (2010). In 2012 he won first prize in the National Competition for Young Performers "Ciudad de Xátiva".

 

Today is part of L'invenzione Orchestra, the Baroque Orchestra "La Spagna" and Orchestra "Musica Humana", also a professor of violin at the College of Santa Maria La Blanca.
